The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor performing maintenance and repair work.
You will perform minor repairs and improvements in multiple trades under the direction of a building or maintenance supervisor.
You will routinely complete maintenance service and repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing.
The working conditions and degree of supervision exercised will differ according to the location and nature of the assignment.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Installation and Maintenance of site Equipment:
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance in a manufacturing environment Perform maintenance activities including, pipe fitting, welding, construction, pump repair, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and basic electrical.
Changing electrical ballasts, light fixtures receptacles and switches Plumbing installation and maintenance such as repairing and replacing leaking faucets, valves, traps, sinks, snaking drains, clearing clogged toilets and drains.
Install and remove window Air Conditioner units Wall and ceiling repairs inclusive of patching and repairing drywall Limited in scope painting, masonry /cement repairs associated with sidewalks, fences, masonry walls, parking lots and driveways Move furniture/supplies and materials throughout the site Maintain Water and Chiller closed loop systems Perform routine testing of valves, generators, and other building equipment Remove snow and ice from walks and lots Safe Work Practices and Communication:
Work safely at all times, adhering to company safety policies and procedures Identify mechanical problems and process plant equipment and system issues; troubleshoot and take necessary corrective action Provide accurate and timely communications to supervisors and colleagues on job status, issues, actions plans, and activities Safeguard Company equipment Maintain and enforce housekeeping standards in the workplace and maintenance shop Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures Assist with the maintenance of RC-140001 elements as required Implement SI Group's Safety and Quality policies Participate in MOC's, PHA's and PSM as requested Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years' experience in welding, pipe fitting, pump installation and repair, boiler and chiller maintenance A basic understanding of bearing assemblies, mechanical drive systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics Entry level knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems Ability to read and understand P&ID's, mechanical design drawings, and equipment fabrication drawings Willingness to complete applicable apprentice level maintenance coursework/training within 12 months of hire Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record Able and willing to perform physical work including but not limited to working in hot and cold environments, perform heavy lifting, working at elevations, working inside confined spaces What We Value:
