88 an hour 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago Description Brazoria County Parks Department is growing and thriving in Southeast Texas, and features 10 recreational park sites, one historic site, more than 20 boat ramps, and 14 miles of public beach along the Gulf of Mexico.
The region also boasts diverse wildlife and landscapes such as Columbia Bottomland forests, rivers, bays, estuaries, beaches and a dedicated, professional team of employees.
Quintana Park is a 52-acre park located along the Gulf of Mexico and is a unique and historic beachfront recreational park with boardwalks, 1/2- mile of pedestrian beach, a fishing pier, RV campsites, trails, cabins and numerous other features.
The Park is looking to hire a part-time Park Ranger for a 29-hour work week (maximum hours).
Example of Duties Job Requirements:
Successful candidate for the part-time Quintana Park Ranger will perform the following job duties:
General park maintenance, mowing, picking up trash, cleaning restrooms and cabins; help with park interpretive programs such as birding, fishing, coastal ecosystem activities, and Park history; assist as needed on park projects, facility repairs, beach cleanups, etc.

Other duties may be assigned by Parks Dept senior staff.
Must represent the department to both external and internal customers with a professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
Park uniforms (shirts and cap) will be provided.
Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications:
Applicants must be a minimum 18 years of age.
High school diploma or G.
E.
D.
required; Basic knowledge of power equipment such as zero-turn lawnmower, weed eater, power tools and hand tools required.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical is a plus.
Knowledge of Texas Gulf Coast / beach ecosystem is a plus.
Stronger consideration will be given to those with previous Park, wildlife agency experience, or experience with maintenance, landscaping, public works or related field.
Employee must provide transportation to Quintana Beach County Park to report for daily work assignment.
Employee must consent to background check, drug screening and Parks Dept.
uniform policy.
Supplemental Information Schedule:
Employee must be willing to work a non-traditional schedule such as weekends, and holidays, but may vary as needed.
Work hours are 8 am - 5 pm, 3 days a week and 8 am - 2 pm, one day a week with a one-hour lunch break each day.
Salary range:
This position is a non-supervisory, regular part-time position, approximately 29 hours per week (no benefits package, nor insurance offered), and is classified as a Grade 31 with a salary range of $20.
94 per hour to $22.
88 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
