We need YOU! Where the chemistry happens As the Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) Director in the Petrochemical Division, you will be accountable for the strategic and tactical execution of the operations for Superabsorbent Polymers unit in Freeport which is the major outlet of the key value chain of the Industrial Petrochemical Business.
The unit is fully integrated into the Freeport Site structure and produces polymers for the Hygiene Industry (Mainly Diaper Manufacturers).
This direct interface with the customer and understanding their needs requires a close interaction with R&D and Technical Marketing to ensure proper implementation of new products in production.
The Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) Director serves as a member of the Freeport Industrial Petrochemical Leadership Team and the Operations Director Peer Group and will interact with peers across 5 different business units and site infrastructure.
As a Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) Director, You Create Chemistry By Operations:
Achieving and increasing maximum utilization rates for all production lines while maintaining a sustainable operations mode meeting the desired quality targets.
Responsible for assets worth > $750M replacement value, striving for continuous improvement regarding costs reduction and implementing operational excellence to increase efficiency.
Safety:
Responsible to achieve best-in-class levels of leading and lagging indicators regarding EHS performance to embrace BASF s highest priority, safety.
Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, quality, cost, equipment optimization and reliability.
Leadership:
As a role model, driving a culture where process safety, continuous improvement, product innovation, breakthrough performance, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
Leading and coaching more than 44 direct and indirect reports based on BASF s CORE values, embracing diversity and communicating effectively to collaborate for achievement.
Building and maintaining team structures to sustainably operate assets safely and reliably.
Of the 44 total workforce, 6 of these employees are administrative direct reports, which require significant alignment with senior leaders in Germany.
Successfully creating a team spirit of always be audit ready enabling successful customer visits throughout the year.
If you have Academic background in a technical degree program.
5
years of experience leading a plant or a team at a plant from a Production Manager position.
10
years in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
Demonstrated high commitment to safety/housekeeping, reliable supply, and quality.
