The Position:
Instrument Technician, Night Shift for DOW Freeport Previous DOW training a plusWe are looking for a positive, energetic instrument technicians with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce.
Applicants should have the ability to:
Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments as a part of the facility's maintenance programMaintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors and other instrumentsPressure test pneumatic instruments for leaks, pneumatic instruments with controllers, transducers, and valves in servicePerform troubleshooting on energized motor controlsSize thermal-overloads, breakers, and fusesConduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systemsInvolve in evaluation of instrument performance to identify optimization and enhancement opportunitiesLoop check electrical wiring for continuity and proper terminationPerform field calibration of electronic instruments with transmitters, controllers, transducers, valves, and recorders in serviceRead, understand, correlate, and trouble-shoot from one-line schematics P & ID's, and ladder diagramsKnowledgeable in the use of electrical equipment testers including V.

, AMP meter and 1000-volt insulation testerKnowledgeable in communication and applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulationsRequirements:
Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Skill AssessmentAbility to pass a post-offer, pre-employment DISA drug/alcohol test and applicable background checksMinimum 5 years craft-specific experienceAssociates Degree in InstrumentationOther Information:
